Fractional CFO

Remote (US)Start ASAPFractional

You’ve been the CFO whose numbers get a nod and then get ignored. The founder does whatever they were going to do anyway. You want the opposite. A founder who acts on the model you build.

This is that seat. You own the profit picture, the cash, and the spend decisions for a growing creator business with real margin to protect. Not reports no one reads. You’re the financial adult in the room whose call changes what the business does next.

Does this sound like you? Then keep reading.

Mark Moss Media is on a mission to inspire financial freedom through disruptive ideas in finance, Bitcoin, and personal sovereignty. Our content reaches millions each month across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, and beyond.

The books get closed every month, but they don’t drive decisions. No one owns the profit picture, the cash forecast, or the call on where the next dollar should go. I need a finance leader who turns clean books into a model the business actually runs on.

Who You Are

  • You’ve been the CFO for a fast scaling, profitable, and cash flowing internet business, and you owned the model, the cash, and the spend decisions.
  • You’ve turned clean books into a model a founder ran real decisions on.
  • You can talk unit economics in your sleep: CAC, LTV, payback, and contribution by product and channel.
  • You’ve worked with scaling companies and run both cash and accrual books.
  • You oversee a bookkeeper to a reliable, on-time close without doing the bookkeeping yourself.

What You Will Do

  • Rebuild the P&L into a decision-useful model in your first 30 days, and set the margin baseline.
  • Deliver a monthly summary that ends in the two to three decisions Mark should make, not a data dump.
  • Build a rolling cash forecast, set a reserve target, and enforce owner-draw discipline against an agreed policy.
  • Frame investment bets with the numbers. For a 90-day, $60K paid-marketing test, that means payback, breakeven, and downside.
  • Oversee the monthly close and its integrity, with Shannon executing the bookkeeping.
  • Set a chart of accounts and basic controls that make the P&L decision-useful, not just categorized.
  • Coordinate with the outside CPA and attorney on tax and entity matters. Flag and quarterback, don’t own.
